Lahore to Host SAF Games Hockey Championship
Lahore is set to host the SAF Games Hockey Championship from 4 April to 11 April. Seven South Asian teams will participate in the event.
According to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the participating teams include Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives, and Bhutan.
PHF Satisfied with World Cup Performance
Recently, the Pakistan Hockey Federation expressed satisfaction with the national team's performance in the World Cup.
A PHF spokesperson noted that Pakistan qualified for the World Cup after a long absence and performed better than in previous events. The team defeated South Africa and Japan, and drew against Wales. This showed progress at the international level, with improved competitiveness and fighting spirit.
However, the PHF acknowledged some weaknesses remain. It plans to address these issues through proper planning in the coming months, with preparations for the Asian Games in mind.
